The editorial board of PTJ is responsible for deciding which of the submitted articles should and which should not be published. The decision to accept or reject a text for publication is based on its significance, originality, clarity and relevance to the scope of the magazine.
The article in the shape in which the editors decide to publish, goes to the translator selected by the editors who prepares its Polish or English version - depending on the language of the original version. Translators also apllies the principle of confidentiality and their data is not disclosed without prior consent. The editors reserve the right to publish both language versions of the article not at the same time.
The Polish Theater Journal, as a semi-annual publication only digitally, is based on the transparent Open System Journal, which allows authors to send publication proposals freely and to conduct a confidential and coordinated review process.
Ghostwriting prevention
The editors supervise the ethical standards of all submitted publications.
In accordance with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the editorial board of PTJ implemented procedures aimed at counteracting unreliable scientific practices such as ghostwriting (making their own contribution without disclosing their authorship / co-authorship, and in the case of thanks, without specifying the contribution of the addressee / recipient of thanks) and guest autorship ( indication as the author / co-author / author / co-author of the publication of a person whose actual authorship is negligible or none).
The editorial board requires the authors of publications to provide information on persons (natural and legal) who contributed to the publication (including their affiliation and input – information on the author of the concepts, arguments, methodologies etc. used during preparation of the publication).
The editorial board deems practices such as ghostwriting and guest authorship to be manifestations of academic dishonesty. Any such abuses shall be exposed, including informing the relevant bodies (the authors’ employers, academic societies, associations of academic editors etc.).
The author sending a text for publication bears the main responsibility for a submitted article.
The PTJ will consider withdrawing the publication if:
a) have clear evidence that the article is unreliable or the result of misconduct, including plagiarism,
b) the author does not indicate without reference or justification that the fragment or whole of the text has been previously published elsewhere.
The editorial board documents any instances of academic dishonesty.
