INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS

The authors interested in publishing in Polish Theatre Journal should send their article proposal to the editors. Submissions need not be confined to the subjects announced in the editorial Calls for Papers.

PTJ is a journal targeted at representatives of various research disciplines, as well as readers not actively involved (at least formally) in academia. Specialist terminology should be given or explained in a way that makes it comprehensible for all readers, not solely a small group of specialists. Avoid use of jargon or incomprehensible and non-accessible phrases.

All submitted articles are initially checked by the editors before being forwarded to two reviewers with a request for an evaluation. The article, after any corrections and re-approval by the editors, is translated and published in two language versions.

The authors should make sure that they write completely original articles. If the authors used the work and / or words of others, they should be cited or quoted. Authors should also refer to publications that have influenced the definition of the scope of the submitted article. Plagiarism and false information are unacceptable.

An authorship should be limited to people who have made a significant contribution to the concept, design, execution or interpretation of the article. All who have contributed should be listed as co-authors. The authors should ensure that all co-authors and co-authors have seen and approved the final version of the text and have agreed to submit it for publication.

If the authors discover a material error or inaccuracy in a published article, they are obliged to immediately notify the journal in order to withdraw or correct the text.

In general, authors should not publish a manuscript describing the same research in more than one journal. Sending the same manuscript to more than one magazine at the same time is behavior that is inconsistent with publishing ethics.

The authors undertake to place information about the original place of publication on each subsequent publication of the text.

How to prepare and submit an article?

Texts and abstracts can be sent to the editorial office address: ptj@instytut-teatralny.pl or via the Open Journal System at www.polishtheatrejournal.com in the LOGIN tab (a personal account must be created). Sending the article is tantamount to agreeing to its publication on the terms described in our policy.

Submitted materials should be edited in accordance with the standards adopted in PTJ – the manuscript preparation rules can be found on Modern Humanities Research Association (MHRA) page.

Texts sent to the Polish Theatre Journal should be formatted according to the following rules:

  • Text file type: .docx

  • The text should include a biography (with ORCID number), abstract (300 words maximum) and 3 or 4 keywords.

  • Maximum size of the text file: 36,000 characters (with spaces, footnotes and bibliography, without the author's abstract and biography),

  • Text format: Font: 12 pt, Times New Roman, line spacing 1.5.

Other editorial guidelines for both language versions can be found HERE.

Please check the files against the above guidelines before sending. The editor does not return unsolicited texts. The editors reserve the right to make abbreviations and changes in published texts.
